Governor Inslee signed into law a bill that frees Washington State demonstrators from the fear of gun toting confronters.


A bill awaits Gov signature that makes demonstrations safer

This bill passed the legislature last week. It now goes to Governor Jay Inslee’s desk for final signature. The NRA asked their members to contact the Governor. Gun safety supporters are requested to offset the power of the NRA and support the Governor. Contact his office and ask for him to sign SB 5038 into law. Ban on open carry at demonstrations passed the Senate

Slightly different versions of this bill passed both the Senate and the House. The bill now goes to a conference committee to resolve the differences.

This bill is before the House Civil Rights and Judiciary Committee for a hearing this week. The NRA asked their members to contact members of the committee. Two gun safety bills fail for the year

  • HB 1283 died in committee. It restricts the open carry or display of weapons within a group of three or more people if the weapons are used in a threatening manner. 👍like
  • SB 5078 died in committee. It prohibits the manufacture and possession of magazines that can hold more than 10 rounds of ammunition. The only excepts are for those already owned. They can be kept at home, at a gun range or for hunting. 👍 like

Both bills failed to pass their committees, so they are considered to be dead for the year.


Bill to ban guns at rallies passed the Senate

On January 25, the Senate Law and Justice Committee will hear SB5078. On January 26, the same committee will hear SB 5038.
