Virginia: NRA readying to stand and fight in 2020

Control of the Virginia House and Senate switched to the Democrats starting in 2020. The Virginia Democrats will soon control all three branches of governorship. Because Governor Northam’s past actions on gun control will continue, it has caused considerable concern among gun rights groups.

The NRA already alerted their members to “lookout for postcards and emails with legislative updates and upcoming townhall events to defend and fight for our rights.” They said, “It is time to stand with your fellow NRA members.” The date and time given for members to gather is Jan 13 at 8AM at the Virginia State Capitol.

Democrats control the State House but the NRA is a formidable force. As they said to their members, “We trust that when called upon, NRA Members will show Bloomberg and Northam why we are the most formidable political force in history. Stay Tuned – Get Active – Let’s Stand and Fight!”

If gun violence prevention advocates ignore politics, they can expect defeat of gun safety measures by the NRA. More alerts to follow.

Virginia: NRA members fighting the Governor

The horrific Virginia Beach mass shooting in May caused Virginia political control to swing from the Republicans to the Democrats. Democratic Governor Northam is determined to use this voter mandate to put new gun safety measures in place.

In response, the NRA sent an alert to their members this week to “fight against unconstitutional Bloomberg-backed gun control in the Old Dominion.” They asked members to “Please contact Gov. Northam and let him know you oppose his unconstitutional gun control measures.”

My alerts keep you informed of NRA member advocacy so you can be a force in opposition. Here is your opportunity to support the Governor in his determination to improve gun safety in Virginia.
