- HB216 passed into law. It adds additional schools where dangerous and loaded guns are allowed. 👎 dislike
- HB227 passed into law. This related to the so-called stand-your-ground law. If the murderer claims self-defense, it is up to the state to prove otherwise. This makes it much harder to convict for murder. 👎 dislike
- HB267 passed into law. It allows someone to voluntarily add themselves to a list of individuals who are unable to purchase a firearm. 👍 like
With sad news we report, both of these bills were passed into law this week. The third bill, HB267, is of minor consequence.

On Friday (2/12/2021), Governor Cox signed a bill to eliminate then need to get a concealed weapons license in order to carry hidden loaded guns in their pocket or their car. - HB60 passed the House and the Senate. It allows any adult to carry guns around with them without a license. 👎 dislike
With Republicans in control of the legislature and the Governor Cox expected to sign it, there is little hope of stopping this bill. You’ll still need a driver’s license, dog license, hairdresser license and a fishing license; but not a gun license. No training or criminal check required. The NRA loves the potential to sell more guns.
A flood of calls to Governor Cox’s office urging a veto of HB60 is the only hope. Please also sign this petition. You can find all your representatives at Common Cause.
