The word “National” as in National Rifle Association doesn’t appear to mean anything to the NRA. Evidently, the urge to expand gun proliferation beyond U.S. soil is too great. To them, foreign countries offer a large opportunity for expanding gun sales. And the NRA is there ready to help. As evidence, several foreign gun groups are known to use the NRA for consultation on how to expand their own gun sales.
From the Boston Globe:
Perhaps its [The NRA] biggest success has been in Brazil, where the NRA worked with activists to help reject a referendum in 2005 that would have banned the sale of firearms and ammunition to civilians.
