Bill allowing gun business during emergencies died

February 24, 2021

  • HB279 failed in committee. It would prevent any government official from restricting gun manufacturers or gun stores from doing business during a declared emergency. 👎Dislike

The  House Consumer & Public Affairs Committee defeated this dangerous bill. No special privileges need to be given to gun businesses. Thankfully, this bill died in committee.

Hearing this week on requiring guns be kept in a safe

February 18, 2021

  • SB224 is in committee. It requires that guns be locked in a safe. If made law, gun deaths of children will decline. The NRA is against this because they resist all gun safety bills. 👍 like

The Senate Health & Public Affairs Committee postponed the hear of this bill until Friday (2/19/2021) at 1:30 pm. You can register to speak in favor of this bill at the legislative webpage. You can view the hearing as well.

Both of these bills will be heard by the House Consumer & Public Affairs Committee on Tuesday (02/09/2021) at 1:30. The public is encouraged to testify via Zoom and you can access it here.
