The Massachusetts Coalition to Prevent Gun Violence set data analysis as their legislative priority for this year. As the lead advocacy group for gun safety legislation in Massachusetts, they work with Mom’s Demand Action and the youth group March for Our lives Boston, to decrease gun violence in Massachusetts.
The data analysis bill submitted this year, S 1388/H 2045, was referred to the Public Safety and Homeland Security Committee. As hearings are held on this bill, we will send alerts with advocacy instructions.
Thorough data analysis of gun trafficking will help support good gun safety legislation. To quote Sen. Cynthia Creem, the majority leader in the Senate, “The simple message behind this legislation is that good data leads to good policy.”
