SB24 passed into law today when Governor Hutchinson signed the bill. Now, anytime a gun fanatic feel they are threatened, whether in a road rage incident or a property infringement, the fun fanatic can shoot to kill.

Today (02/02/21), The House Judiciary Committee voted down justified killing legislation. This is great news; however, through special procedures, the House may override the committee and vote for the bill tomorrow. The NRA sent out an urgent message for members to contact their Representative. Stand Your Ground (right to kill) in House committee
A justified killing bill passed the full Senate and is now before the House Judiciary Committee. They will consider this bill tomorrow at 2:00 pm. I consider this to be a right to kill bill because then anyone can shoot someone and claim they were threatened.

On January 19th, the full Arkansas State Senate is scheduled to hear a justified killing. They allow anyone who feels threatened to shot the person threatening them. Consequently, any disagreement can easily escalate into unnecessary gun violence. See the Gifford’s Law Center for more info.
The NRA alerted their members to contact their State Senator asking for support of this bill. This bill can only be stopped if gun violence prevention people decide to advocate against this dangerous legislation.
