Virginia Info: Special session called on guns

Governor calls back legislators

Governor Northam this morning, called back the legislature to consider gun issues. This after the Virginia Beach mass shooting of a few days ago. Republicans, who control both houses of the legislature, but only by a slim margin, blocked any gun safety measures this year. If gun bills become active during this session, we will alert voters to call their legislators. The calls will be necessary to drive home the point that they better listen to their voters, not just the NRA gun nuts.

From the Washington Post

Northam was joined by Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax and Attorney General Mark R. Herring, all Democrats, at a news conference with other Democratic leaders to challenge the Republicans who control the General Assembly and have repeatedly stifled efforts to consider any form of gun control.
