Vermont: Gun nuts are nibbling at the edges with two bills

At a recent hearing of the Senate Judiciary Committee, NRA members outnumbered gun safety supporters to overwhelm the committee. Under pressure, the committee is continuing work on two NRA bills as well as one gun safety bill. If the committee approves them, they will quickly move to the full Senate for a vote.

The Bills

👎 Senate 1 would allow, during competitions, ammunition magazines holding more rounds of ammunition than normal. Currently, the limit is 10 for assault rifles and 15 for handguns.
