Oklahoma: Eliminating gun permits bill is now before the full House

Tipping point for the NRA

Fortunately, last year Governor Mary Fallin vetoed the bill to eliminate the need for a license to walk around with loaded guns. First thing this year, the NRA is pushing the bill again because they now have a conservative Republican Governor, Kevin Stitt. The NRA is asking members to contact their Representatives in support of this bill. So, we ask you to call and oppose the bill.

The Bill

👎House Bill 2597 would allow anyone to carry a loaded handgun in public, openly or concealed, without a permit. No safety training or background check required.

Please make a “quick call” to the office of your State Representative. Ask for opposition to HB 2597 which would do away with licenses to carry guns. Oklahoma with its lax gun laws, is already consistently one of the top ten most dangerous states in the Country.
