Chris Cox accused of coup involvement
It is hard to keep track of all the lawsuits filed that involving the NRA, so we won’t bother describing them. However, in the latest filing on Wednesday, Chris Cox was mentioned as an “errant fiduciary” who participated in the recent coop attempt along with Oliver North.
This is further evidence of significant turmoil at the NRA, because Chris Cox has always been perceived as the heir apparent to Wayne LaPierre. Cox was their chief lobbyist and nine NRA divisions reported to him.
From the Trace
Cox has been with the organization since 1995 and, since 2002, has served as executive director of the NRA’s influential lobbying arm. Along with LaPierre, he has been instrumental in turning the group into the political force it is today.
