New Jersey Alert: Important gun bill votes Thursday (06/20)

California gun control bills

The schedule is not fixed, but six gun bills are ready for full Assembly and Senate votes Thursday (06/20). The NRA is most concerned about A.1016 which would limit gun sales to smart guns that can only be fired by the owner. They are urging the following: “…every NRA member should be contacting their Senator and Assembly members and respectfully request a “no” vote on this bill and all other gun control.” These guns safety bills need your support to offset NRA members calls.

All citizens interested in gun control bills should call their legislators right now to request support of these bills. Otherwise, only the NRA members will influence the voting.

The Bills

👍 A.1016/S.101 would require gun stores to offer smart guns that would restrict their use to the gun owner.
👍 A.3696/S.2240 would require guns be locked up.
👍 A.5452/S.3876 would require training to obtain a Firearms Identification Card and that it be renewed every four years.
👍 A.5453/S.3879 would ban the sale or gift of guns to disqualified individuals.
👍 A.5454/S.3897 similar to A.5453.
👍 A.5455/S.3898 would require the reporting of ammunition sales and mandate development of an electronic system for firearm information.
