Delaware: Three gun safety bills just introduced in the Senate

Normally, the NRA begins notifying their gun nut members to contact their legislators at the point a bill enters a committee hearing. With these bills, the alerting started unusual early, before even being assigned to a committee. By doing this, the NRA indicated a heightened concern for the possible success of these bills. So remember, the eventual passage of these bills can only happen if concerned citizens help them along.

 The Bills

👍 Senate Bill 68 would ban assault weapons.

👍 Senate Bill 69 would require training and a permit to purchase a gun.

👍 Senate Bill 70 would ban magazines that hold more than 15 rounds of ammunition.

Action

Offsetting the power of NRA gun nut members is important. A quick phone call is very effective. Please call the office of your Delaware State Senator. Ask for support of SB 68, SB 69 and SB 70.

  • To find your representatives and senators, enter your zip code at The League of Women Voters.
  • From the Indivisible Guide 2.0: Coordinated calls. Calls are a light lift, but can have an impact. Organize your local group to barrage your MoCs [legislators] with calls at an opportune moment about and on a specific issue.
