Connecticut: Early opposition to an ammunition tax

The NRA is fighting early against a bill to tax ammunition by 50%. The bill has only just been assigned to the Joint Committee on Finance, Revenue and Bonding. It is early, yet the NRA is fighting already. Theyโ€™ve asked their members to contact the committee about the bill.

Concerned citizens understand the cost to society of gun violence. A tax would be a slight offset to the extreme costs. For advocates for controlling gun violence, this is a chance to offset NRA members.

The Bill

👍House Bill 5700 would institute a tax of 50% on all ammunition sales.
