Alabama: Senate Committee rejects permitless carry

No Guns

This past Tuesday (4/23), the Alabama Senate Tourism Committee rejected the permitless carry bill. This bill would have eliminated the need for concealed handgun permits. Opposed by State Sheriffs, the NRA failure to pass this bill is a victory for stopping unqualified, dangerous people from carrying loaded guns.

The NRA argues their gun nuts have the right to defend themselves. To bring down Alabama’s very high gun death rate is of no concern to these gun nuts. Even researching statistics on whether gun defense actually works is of no concern. Their real concern is the inconvenience of having to apply for a gun license.

The Bill

👎 Senate Bill 4 would have eliminated the need for a license to have hidden guns either on your person or in the car.
