Alabama: An extreme risk protection bill is up for committee vote Wednesday (4/17)

On Wednesday (4/17), the NRA will be fighting an extreme risk protection bill at a hearing before the Alabama House Judiciary Committee. In conjunction, they’ve notified their gun nut members to oppose this bill. The NRA dislikes the bill because it might take gun toys away from some of their gun nuts. To resist this effort, concerned citizens should support this bill.

The Bill

👍 House Bill 265 would allow someone to apply for a “gun violence protection order” with the courts. This would allow family, former dating partners, former roommates, teachers and police to request that guns be removed from a dangerous person.

A quick phone call is very effective. Please call the office of your state Representative. Ask that he or she support HB 256 to help keep guns away from dangerous people.
